Transient Power Measurement and Analysis

We use state of the art power quality instruments to monitor and analyze power systems for transients, sags, surges, imbalances and other disturbances that can be detrimental to the operation of a facility.

Our staff of engineers and highly trained technicians has the equipment and knowledge to perform investigative analysis of power system disturbances as well as failure investigations. Through the investigative process we are able to in most cases formulate corrective steps to prevent future disturbances and failures.

Harmonic Analysis

Harmonics are present in most power systems and can be attributed to many different devices such as computers, electronic ballasts, variable frequency drives (VFD), and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Although all of these devices produce harmonics it does not mean that they are operating incorrectly. However, we have to deal with the unwanted problems that these devices produce on our power systems.

Load Survey Monitoring and Analysis

Using advanced computer based recording instruments we are able provide you with accurate power consumption and load requirement values. We have the capabilities to provide our customers with true RMS, single and multi-phase power presented on full-page graphs of recorded sessions from several minutes to one month. The powerful software can also provide detailed reports highlighting maximum, minimum and average load, power, power factor and voltage over.

Coordination and Short Circuit Studies

Coordination Studies

A coordination study guards the system against damage incurred from transient over-current, over-voltage and faults that can result in system failure.

Fault Studies

Properly sizing equipment IC rating and over-current protection devices is critical to the safe operation of circuit protection devices in the event of a system problem.

Electrical Energy Conservation Studies

Power system analysis for remediation of power factor harmonics and load balance problems.

Load Flow and Connected Load Studies

Extensive on-site load profile surveys in combination with computer software in order to determine available system capacity and the effects of system switching.

Single Line Diagrams and CAD Services

NFPA 70E requirements mandate accurate, up-to-date single-line diagrams. These documents are essential for documenting, troubleshooting, and communicating information about your power systems.

To meet these requirements, VO Power can conduct a comprehensive site survey that is essential to develop or to update existing single-line diagrams or complete electrical system drawings.

These diagrams and drawings are then generated using state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design software to be electronically, and permanently stored on and off site.
